An Open Letter to Brian Lawton

Brian,

Well, let's get this crap out of the way...

I think you're an idiot, and that you did one of the worst jobs of "generally managing" a team in the history of sports.

Just about the only thing you did that I enjoyed, was to piss off Rick Tocchet by firing his assistant, but even that backfired because, well, the team played like total crap after he left.

We have the equivalent of Beavis and Butthead in net because of your 'brilliance', and our defense meanders around like a bunch of drunk hobos, not to mention that we only have about four players that end up on the score sheet.

Now, I don't know how many moves were forced on you by "the cowboys", and I really don't care. First of all, they were gone by the trade deadline, and you ignored our glaring weaknesses anyway, despite being firmly planted in the middle of the playoff race. Second, if you were truly that unhappy, and truly that micro-managed, you should have resigned; bottom line. You didn't; and well, we would've lost in the first round anyway.

And let's get down to it... Rick Tocchet may have been hired before you, but YOU extended his contract. You can put on this BS act like you were the victim and were never able to hire the coach you wanted. Screw off; if you as GM can't control who is coach, then you were never GM, and you should've left on the first train/bus/boat/RV/four-wheeler out of town. You liked your paycheck, and rode it out until the very end. We're not idiots, dick, and this 'poor-me' act ain't going anywhere.

Anyway; we hate you, and I hope that if some poor schmuck is stupid enough to hire you, that it's the Capitals and that you completely destroy their team too.
